We are proud to introduce you to our exciting young stallion, Wimborne Confederate.

 

Wimborne Confederate has been specially selected to join our stallion line up as we strongly believe he has all the ingredients needed to produce top quality dual purpose progeny suitable for todays Olympic disciplines of eventing, showjumping and dressage.

 

Wimborne Confederate is a tall, leggy, elegant stallion with a blue blooded dual purpose pedigree . He promises to be the ideal sire for breeders looking to add length of leg and height to their offspring whilst maintaining a modern, athletic ,elegant and highly verstaile type.

 

Wimborne Confederate, himself, is highly versatile  - on the flat, he displays 3 great paces with an exceptional canter and highly active hind leg making collection and flying changes a breeze. Over a fence Wimborne Confederate is brave, careful and displays a huge amount of scope. Most importantly though, Wimborne Confederate has a temperament , trainability, willingness and work ethic to die for - all he wants to do is please his rider.

 

Wimborne Confederate's early training was with Tom McDermott. Tom achieved amazing results with Wimborne Confederate in only a very short period of time. Tom describes Wimborne Confederate as " brave and careful" over a fence and has even gone as far as to say " ...this horse never has a bad day, he tries so hard to please ...riding him always puts a smile on my face!"

 

 

 

 

Wimborne Confederate will now continue down a path of both eventing and showjumping with Jane Wilcox in the saddle. The new combination have had a great start  by winning their eventing debut at Sydney 3DE in 2021. Contenda is a proven worldclass dual purpose stallion in all regards. He has proven himself to be a highly successful competitor with wins in eventing, showjumping and dressage. Contenda competed up to 2* Eventing with Shane Rose until being forced to retire due to a training injury just when he was about to step up to 3* competition. In an interview given by dual Olympic Medalist Shane Rose about Contenda he said  "....he  ( Contenda) certainly has got the ability to go as far as he needs to go for 4  Star and beyond, he has super super jumping ability, he is great on the flat and he appears to gallop great....he just gallops and jumps and doesn't get tired near the end of the course"

Contenda is a prolific sire of highly successful progeny that are now staring centre stage at the top level of their respective equestrian fields. Contenda is arguably Australia's most successful and versatile sire with progeny winning at the elite levels in Eventing, Showjumping, Dressage and the show ring. Contenda's progeny include Shane Roses's eventing star Swiper ( 3* Eventing winner at 8 years old and now has  been sold to an international rider to represent their country in Eventing at the Tokyo Olympic Games), our homebred Licensed stallion Wimborne Constable ( and 3/4 brother to Wimborne Confederate) campaigned by Heath Ryan currently competing 3* Eventing, showjumping sensation Centenda and Karlee McKay, 1.40m showjumper Con Brio owned by Clive Reed, Alkyra Acrobat - 2 time winner of HOTY and Grand National Runner up, Kitara Top Contenda - mutilple Royal winning hack, dressage star WG Confederate.......just to name a few.

Contenda is by Contendro 1. For the last 3 years, Contendro 1 has been ranked as the number 1 stallion in the world for producing winners in eventing! He also features in the top 20 stallions for producing showjumpers and has several successful dressage offspring as well.Like father, like son - both stallions display versatility at the highest level.

Contenda's damline features the specialised  dressage blood of Bolero, sire of Brentano II, and successful eventing TB blood of Der Lowe.

Damline: Wimborne Special Edition 

Wimborne Special Edition is an exceptional mare who scored over 81% in her AWHA mare assessment clearly making her Head Stud Book mare with the AWHA. Wimborne Special Edition is by the German Stallion Licensing Winner Stedinger out of Wimborne Four Seasons. Wimborne Four Seasons, herself an A Grade Wramblood Foundation Mare, she has produced 6 Head Stud Book mares all from different sires and is also is the granddam of 2 licensed stallions, Wimborne Confederate and Wimborne Constable.(3* eventer with Heath Ryan)

Dam sire: Stedinger

Stedinger is a charming, beautiful and very correct stallion. He is one of the best all around athletes that you can imagine, with gorgeous movement and super form over fences. He brings in the blood of Sandro Hit and Landadel, with their  respective dressage and jumping talents adding to the athleticism of the modern day dual purpose sporthorse.

.In Germany he was the Champion of the Oldenburger licensing in 2002 and runner-up at the main premium award in 2004.

Stedinger is an interesting mix of both worldclass dressage and jumping blood. His sire is the world famous dressage stallion, Sandro Hit, whilst his dam, Bold Fantasy, is jumping bred being by the legendary showjumping sire Landadel. Sandro Hit needs no introduction to breeders as a prolific sire of outstanding dressage horses. On this dam line, Bold Fantasy, scored a free jumping score of 10.00 and a guest rider score of 9.0  to finish on a score of 8.67 at her mare performance test in Germany. She is a full sister to licensed stallion Lamar H and a half sister to CIC** winning event horse Just Me H as well as being the dam of another licensed stallion Donniger by Donnerschwee. Bold Fantasy is by Landadel. Landadel was champion of his 100 day test and is the sire of both top dressage and showjumping progeny.  In the 1999/2000 WBFSH standings, Landadel had 14 representatives on the jumping list and 3 on the dressage list - an outstanding result. Landadel is the sire of Vicki Roycrofts World Cup Qualifier winner Luna Luna who was sold back to Europe after representing Australia at the WEG in Jerez.

Despite having a heavy breeding load Stedinger had a huge amount of success up to Medium level dessage in Germany followed by ongoing success here in Australia with Gina Montgomery  winning many  Medium Tour Championships before being forced to reltire from competution due to the flare up of an old injury. Gina Montogomery described Stedinger as "..the most generous horse I have ever ridden."

As a sire Stedinger has produced countless Licensed Stallions, Premium Mares and successful FEI dressage and jumping horses.
